Our roots trace back to Romanshorn, Switzerland, where at just 16 years old, our grandfather George and his best friend dug out the cellar of what would become the Waldschänke—a woodland tavern tucked in the trees. During WWII, it became a beloved gathering place: a refuge where locals could share a laugh, a drink, and a brief escape from a world at war. That little tavern lived on as a symbol of resilience and community, nestled in family lore like a treasured heirloom.

Dogs are not permitted inside the taproom except while in line (ordering drinks, settling your tab, etc). Well-behaved dogs must remain on a 4’ lead and must remain at your table with you at all times.
Three-barks-you’re-out! Disruptive dogs and their owners will be asked to leave the premises for the sake of the other guests.
We are a family-friendly establishment, however, we do ask that kids be well-behaved for the duration of your visit. Every child in your group must remain supervised by a responsible adult- no unattended children. Please no screaming, running, or climbing on our fences/handrails.
Also note that we are a manufacturing brewery & there are dangerous areas onsite. We are also an alcohol establishment and not an appropriate place to bring large groups or parties of children. No balls, bikes or scooters in any alcohol service areas.
We do not. As a cidery, our license does not allow us to serve any alcoholic products that we do not make in-house. That being said, we do have several wine- and beer-inspired ciders along with our ÜberWine served in shots. Absolutely none of our ciders are “Angry Orchard-level sweet”, so we encourage you to give everything a try!
Yes! Every single one of our ciders is 100% GLUTEN FREE.
“Waldschänke” translates to “forest tavern” in Swiss-German. Our grandfather helped open the original cidery on a forest preserve in Switzerland which you can only hike, bike, our horse back ride to! Learn more about our origins on our ABOUT page.
